MSI has announced its new notebook lineup equipped with the advanced AMD Puma Mobility Platform newly introduced on June 4th. These models include the MSI GX630, GT735 gaming notebooks, PX211, PX210, PR311 business notebooks and EX300, EX630 entertainment notebooks.
Puma is the very first platform designed by AMD especially for notebook computers. Puma Mobility Platform is equipped with latest AMD Turion X2 Ultra processor and the RX780 mobile chip.
The Puma Mobility Platform with Turion X2 Ultra Processor adapted by the RX780 mobile chip can improve the overall visual experience and operating functions, also supports HDMI digital interface for a 5Gb/s performance and other interfaces for multiple screen features.
Detailed specifications and release dates of the new notebooks are currently unavailable.
Today Acer officially introduced their new low-cost, mini notebook called the Aspire One. Acer's Aspire One will come in the 8.9" form factor and will be powered by Intel's Atom processor.
The display on the Atom-powered Aspire One is 8.9" CrystalBrite LED backlit display with a resolution of 1024x600. Other features include 512MB or 1GB RAM, 8GB NAND Flash module or 80GB internal HDD, a 5-in-1 memory card reader, webcam and 802.11b/g WiFi but in future it will offer 3G support for mobile broadband.
Just like other low-cost notebooks, Aspire One will also feature some user friendly Linux OS. The pre-installed software on Aspire One would be separated by functions and presented in four distinct areas on the screen – Connect, Works, Fun and Files. Some models of Aspire One will come pre-installed with Windows XP Home.

Asus Eee PC 901 is an updated version of company's Eee PC 900 low-cost mini-notebook.
The 2.42-pound Eee PC 901 comes with Intel Atom CPU and features a 12GB SSD with Windows XP Home preinstalled, or a 20GB SSD with Linux OS. Eee PC 901 has 1GB of RAM, 802.11n wireless module, Bluetooth, built-in 1.3-megapixel web camera and 8.9" display.
According to a specifications sheet, the 2.93-pound Eee PC 1000 comes with Intel Atom processor, a 40GB solid state drive, 2GB of RAM, 802.11n wireless module, Bluetooth, a built-in 1.3-megapixel web camera, 10" display and Linux operating system.
According to Aving, MSI will unveil its Atom-based mini notebook, called "Wind" during 2008 Computex held in Taiwan from June 3 to 7, 2008.
Weighing less than 1kg, the MSI Wind adopts a 10" display and 80GB Hard Disk Drive. Wind features a low electric power consumption and is equipped with three or six cell battery providing up to seven hours of battery life.
MSI Wind is running on Windows and comes in three different colors - black, white and pink.
