HP's revamed 20.1" Pavilion HDX entertainment notebooks PC are now available for purchase. The updated Pavilion HDX feature up to 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme processor, 20.1" WUXGA (1,920x1,200) display, 4GB DDR2 667MHz RAM, 512MB Nvidia GeForce 8800M GTS and optional HD DVD/Blu-ray drives.
HDX Integrated Audio provides a best in class audio experience with four discrete Altec Lansing speakers and the integrated HP Triple Bass Reflex Subwoofer. It can also be used to record TV shows and as a karaoke machine thanks to the integrated HP Digital + Analog Hybrid TV Tuner. Other features in the HDX series notebooks include a mobilefull-function remote control, dual hard disk drives for more storage, HDMI and an eSata port for high-speed data transfer.
Here's two more MacBook Air contenders coming from Toshiba: the Portege R500 11J and Portege R500 11I.
Similar to the MacBook Air, the R50-11J will include 64GB SSD. In addition it will also feature a 12.1" WXGA transflective LED at 1,280x800, 1.20GHz Intel Core2 Duo Ultra Low Voltage U7600, 2GB RAM, Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, touchpad, Gigabit Ethernet, Buetooth, 3G+ and Wi-Fi (802.11 a/g/n).
Similar to the MacBook Air it will also not include any optical drive.
The refreshed Fujitsu LifeBook E8410 15.4" desktop replacement notebook, which now comes with the Intel Core 2 Duo "Penryn" 45-nanometer processor, is available for purchase.
Along with the Core 2 Duo T7500 "Merom" 65nm CPU, the notebook can be ordered with the T8100 "Penryn" at 2.1GHz and 45nm T9300 at 2.5GHz. The new E8410 configurations feature the integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100, while the T7500-powered model includes the Nvidia GeForce 8400M 128MB dedicated video card. Both graphics solutions manage the 15.4" display with a 1280x800 or (WXGA) or 1680x1050 (WSXGA+) resolution. On the top of the LCD panel, there is a 1.3-megapixel web camera.

The MacBook Air uses the Intel Core 2 Duo Processor and Intel 965GMS chipset with integrated graphics using a new miniaturized package technology. This new CPU and chipset allows for approximately 60% reduction in total footprint. The Core 2 Duo Processor TDP is 20 watts. The Macbook Air is using existing Core 2 Duo technology with a lower voltage spec in a new miniaturized packaging design.
