Dell Vostro notebooks, aimed at business users, are now available for purchase. The Dell Vostro notebooks come in all-black finish and three sizes - 14.1", 15.4" and the 17" Vostro notebooks named the Vostro 1400, Vostro 1500 and Vostro 1700 respectively.
The Dell Vostro range of notebooks are primarily based on Intel's Santa Rosa mobile platform with the latest Core 2 Duo processors, except the Vostro 1000, based on AMD's Mobile Sempron or Turion 64 X2 processors. Intel-powered Dell Vostro 1400, 1500 and 1700 provide a choice of integrated Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or dedicated NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT and GeForce 8400M GS, while the Vostro 1000 has ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 integrated video solution. These laptops support 802.11n draft wireless standard and can be configured with up to 4GB of DDR2 667MHz RAM and 160GB, 7200rpm SATA Hard Disk Drive.
Toshiba has showcased their 12.1" ultra-portable notebook which is just 19.5 mm thick. Toshiba's Dynabook SS RX1 is powered by an Intel Core 2 Duo Ultra-Low Voltage processor working at 1.2GHz and called the U7600.
It can take up to 2GB of DDR2 667MHz Memory. It weighs in just 848 g. with SSD drive and 959 g. with a HDD. HDD option allows you 100GB storage. A DVD Burner drive has also been incorporated in the same to further enhance your storage capabilities.
Fingerprint security, SD Card slot and WiFi are all there. It's on sale currently in Japan starting for about $2,284 but without the SSD. As mentioned earlier, it's not up for sale online.

Fujitsu Siemens today launched three models belonging to Esprimo Mobile Series. The models are all lightweight, offer good battery life and come with integrated 3G/UMTS connectivity, Intel Core 2 Duo processors and Intel 965GM chipsets.
Fujitsu Siemens Computers has launched a new professional notebook range called "Esprimo". This new professional notebook series comprises of three models sporting top-quality configurations which offer the convenience of supporting the same accessories, such as port replicator and a second battery.
The Esprimo series targets budget and mid-range buyers. The three models of the Esprimo series are Mobile U9200, Mobile M9400 and Mobile D9500.
Dell Inc. has officially unveiled the Latitude D430 ultraportable notebook. It comes in the same 12.1" form factor as the predecessor Latitude D420.
Featuring ultra-low voltage processor from Intel, it is based on the previous generation Centrino Duo mobile platform - "Napa", introduced in January 2006.
Dell’s Latitude D430 is offered with Intel Core 2 Duo U7600 (1.2GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB) or Intel Core Solo U1400 (1.2GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB) processor. It has integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950, which manages the notebook’s 12.1" widescreen display. Dell Latitude D430 supports up to 2GB of system memory, and includes DDR2 RAM modules at 533MHz. The new ultraportable provides a choice of a 1.8" PATA hard drive at 4200rpm (up to 100GB) or a SSD with up to 32GB of storage capacity and no moving parts. The system doesn’t have a built-in optical drive.
Alienware has introduced world's first 17" notebook featuring dual 512MB NVidia GeForce Go 7950GTX graphics cards and Intel Core 2 Duo mobile processor. Along with Core 2 Duo Mobile "Merom" processor and 945PM chipset, the Intel "Napa" platform-based Alienware Area-51 m9750 features single NVidia GeForce Go 7950 GTX 512MB GDDR3 graphics card or two paired using NVidia SLI technology.
The supports up to 4GB DDR2 memory at 667MHz. There are up to two hard drives providing a total of 500GB storage capacity. Alienware Area-51 m9750 has Combo drive, DVD burner and Blu Ray disc drive options.
Alienware’s m9750 high-performance mobile computer has 7.1 digital high-definition audio, built-in two speakers and subwoofer, a 1.3MP camera, as well as an optional coaxial TV tuner.
Regarding communications, there are 802.11a/b/g and optional 802.11n draft wireless standards supported. This notebook also has Gigabit Ethernet, a 56k modem, and a Bluetooth.
Alienware Area-51 m9750 incorporates VGA, DVI-D and S-Video out connectors. The laptop also features S-Video In connector, so it can be used as a digital video editing machine. It features ExpressCard slot, four USB ports, Firewire port, and a 4-in-1 media card reader.
