BenQ has announced the launch of 15.4” WXGA Joybook A53 powered by Intel's Core 2 Duo processor T7250, up to 2GB DDRII RAM, SiS M672 chipset and SiS Mirage 3+ graphics and max storage of 200GB.
First thing you'd notice about the A53 is its stylish brushed-metal finish and tasteful etching. Inside, the chic brushed-metal effect is applied to the aluminum palm rest. The display bezel uses the sophisticated RHCM (Rapid Heat Cycle Molding) process to achieve a lustrous finish that blends perfectly with the high-gloss LCD screen. The orange glow of the power button adds a warm touch to a beautifully holistic design.
It's one of those very few laptops in the 15.4" form factor to feature an integrated numerical keypad. The A53 excels in the entertainement department with a good set of features. The screen benefits from BenQ’s exclusive UltraVivid technology, with DBEF™(Display Brilliance Enhancement Film) increasing screen brightness and sharpening details. It has 8ms response time and 200 nit brightness rating. A built-in webcam with an internal mic with noise suppression and echo cancellation functions is also provided.
Asus showcased at the ongoing 2008 CeBIT expo the Asus G70, its new 17" gaming notebook, which features dual Nvidia GeForce video cards.
According to SlashGear's report, the G70 incorporates Intel's latest Core 2 Duo processor, two GeForce 8800M GS GPUs in SLI setup and up to 4GB of system memory. The notebook sports dual hard drives which currently means a max of 400GB of storage, although a max of 1TB is coming soon with the new 2.5” 500GB HDD's.
The notebook's 17" display has a 1920×1200 HD resolution. There is also a pair of built-in Altec Lansing stereo speakers with subwoofer, as well as a HDMI output, an embedded TV tuner, a remote control, and an integrated web camera.
Dell unveiled its first fully ruggedized notebook, the Latitude XFR D630 which meets MIL-STD 810F standards from the Department of Defense for products that operate in extreme temperatures, moisture and altitude. The rugged laptop, intended for government and commercial customers, is available in the U.S. and starts at $3,899.
Designed to operate in extreme temperatures, moisture and altitude conditions, the Latitude XFR D630 uses similar components like other Dell products from the Latitude family. Also, a patent-pending thermal management system allows the rugged laptop to use latest generation technology and deliver up to four times better graphics performance than the Panasonic CF-30.
Everex VA1500V VIA C7-M 15.4" Wide XGA+ VIA Chrome 9 HC IGP Notebook is now available at Newegg. It is basically the Everex NC1610 notebook running gOS instead of Windows Vista.
This $399 15.4" notebook is based on the VIA C7-M processor at 1.50GHz (400FSB, 128KB L2 Cashe) and the VIA Chrome9 HC integrated graphics. The Everex VA1500V comes with 512MB of DDR2 memory, a 60GB hard drive, and a DVD/CD-RW Combo. Its 15.4" display has a resolution of 1440x900 pixels.
The notebook has a built-in Atheros AR5005G 802.11b/g Wireless Network Adapter, an Ethernet LAN port, three USB ports, and a VGA output, but it has no PC Card or ExpressCard slot.
Everex VA1500V runs the gOS V2, a Linux-based operating system. With the gOS, you get a lot of free preinstalled software including OpenOffice.org 2.3, Mozilla Firefox, Skype, GIMP, Xine Movie Player, and various Google applications.
