Toshiba has launched the new AMD-powered Satellite A215 notebook range. It features several variations of AMD’s most advanced family of dual-core processors made for mobility, including the AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology Gold Edition TL-64.
Along with AMD’s dual core Turion 64 X2 mobile processors, including the Gold Edition TL64 CPU, Toshiba Satellite A215 incorporates M690V chipset with its integrated ATI Radeon X1200 series graphics, managing notebook’s 15.4" widescreen display with 1280x800 pixels screen resolution. These notebooks support up to 4GB of DDR2 system memory and SATA hard disk drives. The first Satellite A215 series models feature built-in DVD burner with Labelflash technology for burning labels directly on the media.
Regarding communications, Toshiba Satellite A215 laptops have Atheros 802.11b/g wireless LAN, Ethernet LAN and a 56k modem. For video conferencing, there are built-in web camera and microphone.
The A215 has four USB ports, an ExpressCard slot, a 5-in-1 media card reader, Firewire port, VGA and S-Video outputs, and fingerprint reader.
Toshiba outfitted the notebook with Dolby Sound Room technology to deliver amazing virtual surround sound from stereo speakers or any pair of headphones. It comprises of technologies like Dolby Digital, Dolby Headphone and Dolby Virtual Speaker.

The first Satellite A215 models available at ToshibaDirect are A215-S4757 and A215-S4767. They come with one-year standard, limited warranty which includes carry-in support at Authorized Service Providers.
